Jake Sigal has established himself as an innovator and a visionary at the age of 28, launching over 20 successful products into the market. Currently he is the CEO of Livio Radio and the Founder/CEO of Myine Electronics. Founded in 2008, Livio finds ways to make Internet audio streams accessible to more people, in more places and is dedicated to designing products that work fast without complicated menus. Myine manufactures high-quality electronic audio products that make music accessible to consumers with limited time or technological sophistication.
Livio Radio sells the NPR Radio and the Livio Radio featuring Pandora. Myine sells award-winning electronics Mr. Sigal originally designed for his Baby Boomer parents. Products from both companies are sold in retailers across the United States and Canada. Prior to starting Myine and Livio, Mr. Sigal invented the original USB turntable, the first product designed to facilitate the conversion of vinyl records to CD or MP3 format. He is also listed as the co-inventor of the iDJ, an iPod-based mixing console. After ION, Sigal, moved to Detroit to work as a product line manager for Delphi’s Consumer Electronics group. Sigal was responsible for producing XM-brand satellite radio products.
Mr. Sigal holds a master’s degree in engineering from Ohio University and currently sits on the university’s Russ College of Engineering Board of Advisors. He is also a board member of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) Small Business Council.
Detroit Young Professionals (DYP) is bringing together movers and shakers from across Southeast Michigan to honor 10 remarkable innovators and changemakers at our 2nd Annual Vanguard Awards. This event was established to recognize and celebrate outstanding Detroiters who have distinguished themselves through professional leadership and service to our community.
Hosted by Local 4 News Anchor Rhonda Walker, the 2nd Annual Vanguard Awards will take place on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Amnesia, perched high above downtown Detroit on the 16th floor of MotorCity Casino Hotel. Attendees will enjoy a special networking reception, awards presentation and after party with a complimentary hors d'oeuvres and music by DJ SloPoke.
