JASON WEBBER

Jason Webber, a Corporate Counsel for almost 5 years at Compuware Corporation has more than legal expertise to offer. Although he has both a J.D. and an M.B.A. from Wayne State University in Detroit, he also has a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on for students he mentors at Detroit’s Ralph Bunche Elementary school.   As part of Compuware’s Lunch Buddies program with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit, Webber has mentored six students over the past four years. In addition, Jason is a regular career day speaker at Detroit Renaissance and Detroit Kettering High Schools.

As assistant varsity basketball coach for the Detroit Country Day High School, his alma mater, Webber models success in sports as well as discipline in the classroom for his players. While at Central Michigan University, Webber was selected to the Academic All Mid-American Conference first team in 1999 and later graduated in 2000 with honors.

At home, Jason acts as a business advisor to his 4 siblings, Rachel, Jeff, Dave, and Chris as well as being a proud and dedicated father of an 11 year old son.

Detroit Young Professionals (DYP) is bringing together movers and shakers from across Southeast Michigan to honor 20 remarkable innovators and changemakers at our 3rd Annual Vanguard Awards. This event was established to recognize and celebrate outstanding Detroiters who have distinguished themselves through professional leadership and service to our community.

Hosted by Channel 7 Action News Anchor Vic Faust and sponsored by the Detroit Regional Chamber, the 3rd Annual Vanguard Awards will take place on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Vain Ultra Lounge, located in the heart of Downtown Detroit. Attendees will enjoy a special networking reception, awards presentation and after party with complimentary hors d'oeuvres and music by DJ Mike Clark.
